General information:
This semester, law students enrolled in the CECIL programme (Certificate of Studies in European, Comparative and International Law) as well as other interested students will be able to participate in the Summer School „Open Sea“ 2016: ‘Migration, Sea Border Control and Human Rights’ organized by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Migrants’ Rights in the Mediterranean, which will take place from 6 to 14 June 2016 in Naples, Italy. The working language of the Summer School is English.
The Summer School aims to combine scientific and practical knowledge on current topics of the International Law of the Sea, Migrations and Human Rights Law. Speakers include the Head of Frontex’ Legal Affairs Unit and the UN Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons.

CECIL: The official title of the excursion on StudIP is “JMCE Summer School „Open Sea“ 2016” (StudIP number: 25700). Participation in the Summer School, which includes a written multiple-choice examination in Passau upon return, will be awarded 5 ECTS. An introductory course on the subject will be held in Passau prior to the Summer School in May.
Costs: The regular fee of the Summer School (accommodation, cultural programme, local transport and most meals included) is 700,00 € and will be reduced to 600,00 € for those members of our group who are willing to share a room with two other students. Travel costs are not included. Overall costs for the Summer School and travel to and from Naples are subject to a reimbursement of up to 20% by the university.
