Nationwide survey of student workers for more pay and better employment conditions – meeting on 13 June

| Reading time: 1 min.

Have you been employed as an assistant or tutor at the University of Passau in the last 12 months? Then your student representatives would be pleased about your participation in the nationwide survey of student employees and also about your forwarding it to others who you think might be interested. In this way, you can help ensure that the survey of working conditions of student employees results in a representative overview of all work and study fields throughout all German states and that it makes visible the where there is room for improvement. You can find the survey here.

The survey is conducted by the nationwide TVStud network and the trade unions ver.di and GEW in cooperation with the Institute for Labour and Economics (iaw) at the University of Bremen. Together they are calling for a nationwide collective agreement for student workers that would ensure better pay and longer-term contract, among other things.

This representative representative survey on the working conditions of student employees is to pave the ground for talks which the TVStud movement had wrested from the employers' association in the collective bargaining round of the Länder through nationwide strike actions.

On 13 June, the student representatives will hold a meeting at 8 p.m. in room NK 204, where the trade unions ver.di and GEW will report on the development of a collective agreement. Please email the organisers to register in advance or ask any questions you may have.
