Statement by Members of the International Law Association Committee on the Use of Force
Members of the ILA Committee on the Use of Force, in which Dr. Beham is a representative of the ILA Austrian Branch, have issued a statement available in almost 30 languages assessing the events in Ukraine from an international law perspective: https://www.justsecurity.org/80454/statement-by-members-of-the-international-law-association-committee-on-the-use-of-force/ Apart from recognising the violation of international law by Russia, it emphasises the clear obligations of the international community in relation to peremptory norms of international law, namely to cooperate to bring the aggression to an end through lawful means, not to recognise as lawful any situation it creates, or render any aid or assistance in maintaining the situation (which may consist in economic support of Russia).
